Routine visits, typically 1-2 times per year provide our doctors with the opportunity to capture a complete an accurate snapshot of your pet's overall health, and they then use this information to monitor any changes as they occur. Early detection and treatment of disease can vastly imporve quality and length of your pet's life.
We offer comprehensive wellness care services specifically designed for your pet throughout their lifetime. Wellness visits include "nose to tail" physical exams, parasite prevention and control, nutrition and weight management and any diagnostic testing that our doctors may deem necessary to monitor and manage your pet's health.
We offer customized vaccine plans tailored to each patient's unique needs and lifestyle.
Healthy teeth and gums play an important role in your pet's overall health and well being. If not properly cared for, plaque and tartar can begin to build up on the teeth and beneath the gum line, and that buildup can eventually lead to dental disease. Dental disease is a serious condition that can lead to other problems throughout your pet's body, including heart, liver, lungs and kidney disease and decreased bone density in the jaw. The good news is this can all be prevented through routine veterinary dental care.
Bay Animal Hospital offers a full range of pet dental services including complete prophylactic cleaning, ultrasonic scaling and polishing. We can also perform tooth extractions and oral surgery should either be deemed necessary. Our complete dental care services are designed to provide a lifetime of good oral health to your pet
Finally, our friendly, knowledgeable staff is prepared to offer advice, guidance, tips and techniques on home dental care that you can employ to help keep your pet's teeth and gums healthy and clean at home, in between visits to our office. We want to work with you to help your pet enjoy a clean, fresh and happy mouth for life!
Bay Animal Hospital offers a range of surgeries that include, but are not limited to, cat and dog spay and neutering, growth removals, bladder stone removal and occasionally foreign body removals.
**Due to the current Covid 19 status we are limiting our housecalls and will not always be able offer them at all times.** At Bay Animal Hospital we understand that it is not always possible to bring your pet to the hospital. In these instances, we are happy to offer house calls, during which a doctor and technician will come to your home to provide necessary medical care for your pet. House calls also make veterinary care more accessible to people who are home bound, have mobility issues, or are unable to drive.
What is Laser therapy?
laser therapy is the use of specific wavelengths of light to treat painful and debilitating conditions.
How does it work?
Light energy enters the damaged cells and stimulates inter-cellular activity. This reduces pain in the area and speeds recovery of the damaged cells. Once the cells recover, the healing process is complete.
What can we treat with Laser therapy?
Arthritis, postoperative pain and wound healing, decreased blood circulation, bladder infections, constipated pets, inflamed ears, hip dysplasia, sinusitis, soft tissue sprains/tears including cruciate ligament issues, and so much more. It helps reduce the inflammation associated with anal glands that need expressing. We use the laser after most surgeries.
How often does my pet need treatment?
Depending on the issue, most owners can see improvement in 1-3 treatments. Some skin and arthritic issues need up to 6 treatments over a couple of weeks, then as needed.
